A New Adventure

I'll bet you are probably wondering why my blog is entitled "Life on the Farm."  Well, Michael and I have been given the opportunity to be ranch managers for a ranch/farm here in town.  It's all happened rather quickly, but we are so excited about the new chapter in our lives beginning to unfold.

Michael and I have talked together on many occasions about how we would love to live on some land where the kids could roam and have plenty of room to run and play.  Just the other day, I told Michael I would love to live on a farm.  Little did I know that dream would actually come true!!!

A little over a week ago, Michael came home and spoke of the possibility of us being ranch managers for a man named George Lenz and his wife JaJean.  The wheels started turning and everything seemed to fall into place.  So, here we are getting ready to enter into a whole new life.  Michael will continue to work at Trail West Lodge.

We will  move into the farm house at the beginning of May which means packing up our things and moving from this house on Shaman Way.  It's a little overwhelming at the moment; there is much going on the next two months, then summer begins at TWL and also for us.  It will be bitter sweet leaving this house we've called home for the past 6 years.  We have so many great memories in this house.   And I can't even begin to tell you what great neighbors we've had.  Doug and Donna live right beside us, and they are like a 3rd set of grandparents; they have loved our kids as their own.   Hannah, on the other side, she will be missed.  Of course, our friendships will continue, we just won't be walking distance.  The kids have grown up here with so many great memories of family and friends, it will be hard to leave.  But good memories are waiting to be made in the farm house.  I'm looking forward to that.

Our little farm house is currently being renovated because there was a mouse/rat problem.  Yikes!!!!  I'm not very fond of the varmints, but Michael is going to take care of the problem at our house, the barn and Mr. George's house.  Michael is so good at what he does; he knows exactly what is needed and will take care of it.  My hero!!!  So, we are waiting until the renovation is complete and the house is cleaned and then we will move in.  We have so much packing to do.  You never really know how much stuff you have until you have to move it.  But God is good!  He knows what we need, and He will take care of us and our little house.

I pray we will be a blessing to Mr. George and Mrs. JaJean.  I pray we will be good for that little farm.  I pray we will work hard seeing the fruits of our labor.  I pray the kids would learn new skills and continue to learn to work hard and see the Lord's provision.  I pray Christ's presence would be felt when friends, family and strangers come into our house.   I pray God would be glorified in the work we do!  I pray blessings on our little house and the land that we will live on.  I pray blessings on Mr. George and Mrs. JaJean.  Thank you Lord for this opportunity to serve you and them in this way. Bless us Lord.  We love you!

Here are some pictures we took on Easter when we went by the farm.
